14-Year-Old school girl drowned to death in Brahmani River in Jajpur

Jajpur: A 14 years old girl lost her life after drowning in Jajpur district of Odisha. This tragic incident has been reported in Brahmani River at Chandanpur Ghat under Bari-Ramachandrapur Police station limits.

The deceased Class- IX student has been identified as Subhalaxmi Biswal, daughter of Prashant Biswal, of Chandanpur village.

Sources said, Subhalaxmi was taking bath in the river along with her three friends when she reportedly fell in a deep portion of the river.

On receiving information, fire fighting squad from Bari Fire Services rushed to the place and started a rescue operation.

However, despite all their efforts they weren’t able to rescue her, as a result, she drowned to death.

Later the dead body was recovered from the river. A pall of gloom descended on the village following her death.
