Man kills parents in Jagatsinghpur over family dispute

Jagatsinghpur: A minor family dispute turned tragic as a man killed his elderly parents triggering panic among the local residents in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur district on Sunday.

One Dilip Parida of Tertanga village under Balikuda police station limits of the district reportedly had a heated argument with his father Satyananda Parida and mother Charulata Parida for some unknown reason.

Their exchange of words turned tragic as Dilip hacked Satyananda and Charulata with a sharp weapon causing their deaths on the spot.

On being informed about the murder of Satyananda Parida and Charulata Parida, Balikuda police visited the village and started an investigation into the matter. They arrested Dilip and initiated the legal process to forward him to the court.

Police also sent the bodies of the elderly couple for postmortem.

Meanwhile, the heinous double-murders have triggered panic among the villagers.
