Kandhamal: Major fire in Khali Patra warehouse, goods worth lakhs turned into ashes

Baliguda: A massive fire broke out in Odisha’s Kandhamal district turning a huge stock of khali Patra (Sal leaf) into ashes. This incident has occured in Katari Sahi area in Baliguda town late on Saturday night.

As per reports, Kandhamal Mahila Khali Cooperative Limited warehouse was affected in the fire mishap, in which goods worth lakhs has been destroyed.

Sources revealed that the fire likely occurred due to a short circuit.

On being informed, the local fire fighters reached the spot and brought the flames under control and averted a bigger disaster that could have engulfed the neighbourhood too.

However, the actual financial loss is not known yet.

An inquiry into the matter is under progress.
