New Delhi: Russian President Vladimir Putin has hailed the long-standing partnership between Russia and India, describing bilateral ties as “very good, trust-based, brotherly relations in all senses of the word” since diplomatic relations were established in 1947.

Speaking about India’s capabilities, Putin said, “We know how talented the Indian people are, how well educated. Indians have great competencies, which have achieved world renown, especially in coding and in other fields.”

Referring to recent developments, Putin noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had to introduce certain restrictions, asking people not to use personal cars or travel long distances “due to what is happening in the state of Hormuz.”

The remarks underline Russia’s continued push to deepen energy and technology cooperation with India amid shifting global supply dynamics.
