Man kills pregnant wife, stages death as suicide in Gujarat

Gujarat: In a shocking incident, pregnant woman in Gujarat’s Kheda district died after allegedly being forced to consume liquid nano urea by her husband. Police suspect an attempt was made to pass off her death as suicide.

As per reports, the woman, identified as Arunaben, was initially reported to have died by hanging. However, the post-mortem examination reportedly pointed to poisoning.

Police detained her husband, Mitul Sodha, and brother-in-law, Vipul Sodha, in connection with the case, added reports.

The woman’s brother alleged that she had faced physical and mental harassment from her husband and in-laws over suspicions about her character.

Investigators are also examining the alleged roles of other family members, including the woman’s mother-in-law and sister-in-law. Police have seized several items as part of the probe.

The investigation is underway.
