Odisha to receive rain for another five days, predicts IMD

Bhubaneswar: Odisha will continue to receive rain for another five days, predicted the regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bhubaneswar today.

According to the weather department, thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty surface wind is expected to occur in several districts of the state.

Check the day-wise warnings of Odisha:

Day 1 (Valid upto 8.30 AM of July 12):

  • YELLOW WARNING: Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty surface wind (wind speed reaching upto 30-40 kmph) very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Baleswar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghapur, Kataka, Sundaragada, Jharsuguda, Baragada, Sambalpur, Debagada, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Khordha, Nayagada.
  • Heavy Rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundaragada, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj.
  • Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at a few places over all the districts of Odisha.

Day 2 (Valid from 8.30 AM of July 12 to 8.30 AM of July 13):

  • YELLOW WARNING: Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty surface wind (wind speed reaching upto 30-40 kmph) very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Baleswar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghapur, Kataka, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Khordha, Nayagada.
  • Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj.
  • Light to Moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at a few places over all the districts of Odisha.
