Bhubaneswar: Hundreds of Health Mitra workers gathered at Lower PMG in Bhubaneswar on Sunday demanding to put a halt to the current retrenchment process and seek better job security.

Led by All Odisha Swasthya Mitra Association (AOSMA), employees intensified their agitation even as the city was experiencing moderate rainfall.

A few women were present along with their children for the protest.

Speaking at the gathering, AOSMA members said that due to the retrenchment process, employees were in confusion and stated that the government must solve the issue.

They added that the protests by employees may harm the state’s healthcare services.
