Rajnagar: The mystery surrounding the disappearance of Subhashree Das from Rajpur village under Rajnagar police limits in Odisha’s Kendrapara district has deepened after her grandfather lodged a written complaint with police.

In his complaint, Subhashree’s grandfather stated that his son and daughter-in-law were not present at home on the day their daughter went missing. The complaint, filed several days after her disappearance, has raised further questions surrounding the case.

Even after a week, Subhashree remains untraced and no body has been recovered so far.

Meanwhile, a photograph purportedly showing Subhashree’s body has been circulating on social media. However, its authenticity and connection with the missing woman have not been officially established.

According to claims attributed to purported eyewitnesses, Subhashree was killed and her body was allegedly tied to a stone and thrown into a river. These claims remain unverified, and the circumstances surrounding her disappearance are yet to be established by police.

After the incident came to light, Rajnagar Police reportedly brought eight people, including members of Subhashree’s family and a boatman, to the police station for questioning. They were questioned for two days and subsequently released.

Subhashree’s grandfather later lodged the written missing-person complaint with police.

The timing of the complaint has also raised several questions, including why it was filed several days after Subhashree went missing and why her parents did not lodge the complaint themselves.

Meanwhile, Fire Services personnel have carried out search operations in the river for three days at a particular location, but Subhashree has not been traced.

With no body recovered and the claims surrounding her alleged death yet to be established, the exact circumstances of Subhashree’s disappearance remain unclear. Police investigation into the case is underway.
