New Delhi: Members of Bangladesh’s Hindu community staged a torchlight procession in Dhaka recently to protest what they described as an insult to Lord Ram. Demonstrators demanded the arrest of those responsible. ANI informed about this in an X post today.

The march began at Shahbagh intersection, moved through Shahbagh Square, and ended at the National Press Club via Motsho Bhaban. Participants carried torches and chanted slogans including “Jai Shri Ram.”

Organizers said the protest was triggered after construction of a Lord Ram idol at the Sanatan Complex in Polash Bari, Gaibandha, was halted following alleged unrest.
