Sirijhuli Revenue Inspector Susanta Mallick lands in vigilance net

Rayagada: Susanta Mallick, the Revenue Inspector (RI) of Sirijhuli Circle in Rayagada district has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while demanding and taking bribe of Rs 25,000.

Mallick was nabbed while he was taking bribe of Rs 25,000 from an applicant for submitting favourable enquiry report in a mutation case and facilitating issuance of ROR (land patta) of his ancestral land in his favour.

The applicant had applied online as per the rules of government in R&DM Department for the aforesaid purpose and deposited requisite fees. But, accused RI was delaying the process for no reason. Instead, accused RI demanded Rs 25,000 bribe.

This tempted the applicant (Complainant) to report the matter to vigilance authorities alleging harassment by Mallick.

Following this, today, a team of Odisha Vigilance nabbed Mallick while taking the bribe from the complaint in his office room. The entire tainted bribe money Rs 25,000 has been recovered from the possession of accused Mallick and seized.

Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at three locations linked Revenue Inspector from Disproportionate Assents (DA) angle.

In this connection, Koraput Vigilance P.S Case No 16/2026, U/s-7PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered. Investigation is in progress against accused Mallick. Detailed report follows.
