Cuttack: Mahanadi in Spate: 5-Foot Floodwater Flowing Over Huluhula Bridge

Cuttack: The Mahanadi river is in spate. Floodwater about 5 feet high is flowing over the Huluhula bridge that connects Subarnapur in North Banki to Tigiria, bringing traffic to a near standstill.

As per reports, two panchayats in Banki and over 10 villages in Tigiria block have been cut off from the rest of the region.

Similarly, Shukhua Khala village under Similipur Gram Panchayat has also been isolated due to rising water in the Rana river.

According to reports, the floodwater flowing over the Huluhula bridge has completely disrupted movement, leaving locals facing problems in accessing essential supplies and emergency services.

In view of the situation, the Tigiria and Banki administrations have issued alerts. Officials are closely monitoring affected areas, and rescue teams along with the fire department have been kept on standby. The administration has urged people not to cross floodwaters unnecessarily and is keeping a close watch on the situation.
