Two more low pressure likely to bring heavy rainfall across Odisha from Aug 13-19

Bhubaneswar: The Indian Meteorological Department has warned that two new low pressures will likely form in the Bay of Bengal.
According to the Meteorological Centre forecast warning, a low pressure has currently formed over the Bay of Bengal near the North Odisha coast and it’s adjoining areas, which will likely bring very heavy rainfall over isolated places of the state.
Meanwhile, another low pressure area will likely form by August 14. Under the influence of these low pressure, some places of the Odisha along with east and northern-east parts of the country will receive very heavy rainfall from August 13 till August 19.
According to the IMD predictions, a cyclonic circulation will likely form in the Bay of Bengal by August 12th. The cyclonic circulation is expected to intensify into a low pressure by August 14.

However, there is no clear information regarding the path, intensity and amount of rainfall of the possible low-pressure area yet.
Meanwhile, IMD has issued an orange warning for 4 districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh and Sambalpur. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected at several places in these 4 districts. The rest of the district have received a yellow warning for rainfall. Heavy rain is likely in 17 districts of coastal, interior and southern Odisha.
The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for more than 20 districts today.
