Ex-ASI of Nisha Industrial Police Station convicted in bribery case and sent to jail

Anugola: In a significant anti-corruption development, Odisha Vigilance has secured the conviction of one Ex-ASI of Police, Industrial PS, Nisha, Anugola, in a bribery case.

Chittaranjan Sahoo was convicted by Special Judge, Vigilance, Anugola and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of four years and fine.

He was charge-sheeted by Odisha Vigilance in a case U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d)/7 PC Act,1988 for demanding and taking bribe Rs 15,000 from a complainant for release of his mobile phone.

Further, the convict Chittaranjan Sahoo, ASI of Police, SDPO Office, Palalahada, Anugola was sent to jail custody to serve his sentence.

Odisha Vigilance will now move the competent authority for dismissal of Chittaranjan Sahoo following his conviction.
