CM Mohan Majhi, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to flag off Puri-Koraput Express today

Bhubaneswar: Railway Minister and Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Ashwini Vaishnaw and Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will inaugurate a new Puri-Koraput Express from Bhubaneswar railway station today that is on Monday. The new train will ease travel between Puri and Koraput and improve rail connectivity across Odisha.

The train will be operated by East Coast Railway (ECoR) and will run in between Khurda Road, Bhubaneswar, Angul, Sambalpur, Bargarh Road, Balangir, Titlagarh, Kesinga, Muniguda, Rayagada, Kakiriguma and Damanjodi station.

During its journey, the train will halt at Khurda Road, Bhubaneswar, Naraj, Marthapur, Dhenkanal, Talcher Road, Angul, Boinda, Rairakhol, Sambalpur, Bargarh Road, Balangir, Titlagarh, Kesinga, Muniguda, Rayagada, Tikiri, Laxmipur Road, Kakiriguma and Damanjodi.

The train will operate three days a week from Puri on Monday, Thursday and Saturday and Tuesday, Friday and Sunday from Koraput.

Operated by the East Coast Railway (ECoR), the new express service is expected to benefit pilgrims, tourists, students, patients, traders and local residents by improving access to major religious, educational, healthcare and commercial centres across the state.

The train operation will benefit pilgrims, tourists, students, patients, traders and local residents. The train service will strengthen the rail connectivity between the coastal, western, and southern parts of the state.

According to ECoR, the launch of the train fulfils a long-standing demand for direct rail connectivity between Puri and Koraput.

Meanwhile, the Brahmapur–Udhna Amrit Bharat Express, which is currently operating for three days a week, will be turned into a daily service. The express train provides railway connectivity between Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Maharashtra.

The daily operation of the express will benefit migrant workers, students, businessmen, and other commuters travelling between the above mentioned states.
