Delhi police arrest husband in newlywed’s suspected dowry death case

Delhi: Akriti, who was in a relationship with Arastu for the past eight years, had tied the knot with him on April 24.
She was found in a semi-conscious state outside an NDMC residential complex in Lodhi Colony on Saturday evening
She was rushed to the hospital, where she was declared dead by doctors.
Delhi Police is probing all possible angles.

Akriti’s family members have filed a dowry harassment complaint against Arastu and her in-laws alleging they were demanding Rs 20 lakh after the marriage
They are terming it as a murder, dismissing the possibility of suicide due to the given
They further claim Akriti had attended her office on Saturday, hosted a small party for her colleagues earlier that day, and wasn’t under any stress or threat.
Police said a post-mortem is awaited and they are examining CCTV footage and other evidence to reconstruct her last few moments.
