4 dead as heavy rainfall triggers landslides in Himachal, orange alert issued

Himachal: Himachal Pradesh on the second consecutive day was the target of heavy rainfall, killing at least four people.
As per reports, numerous roads across districts were either shut due to landslides or overflowing rivers which continued to create a menace.
Restoration work was on in some parts of the state.

“Citizens are advised not to venture out of homes as a precautionary measure,” said officials.
Earlier, Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) had sounded an orange alert in several areas of Himachal Pradesh on July 12 and predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall, while warning of landslide, flash floods and waterlogging in low-lying areas as rain was incessant.
