Minor Odisha migrant worker electrocuted to death at Visakhapatnam construction site

Rayagada: In a tragic incident, 15-year-old migrant worker from Odisha electrocuted to death after he came in contact with electricity while working at an under-construction building in Andhra Pradesh’s Visakhapatnam.

The deceased has been identified as Kamal Lochan Majhi of Bedapadar village under Dangasil panchayat in Kashipur block of Rayagada district.

As per reports, he allegedly died after suffering an electric shock inside a bathroom of the construction building.

Following which, his body is being brought to his village in Odisha after post-mortem.

The incident has brought the plights of the migrant labourers from the region into light.

As many as three migrant workers from Kashipur have died working outside the State in last 15 days alone.

At least six migrant workers from Kashipur block have died in other states after migrating for work over last few months.
