Taxi driver beaten to death outside Kamakhya Temple in Assam

Guwahati: A taxi driver was beaten to death outside the Kamakhya Temple in Guwahati, Assam on Wednesday.
The victim of this incident is identified as Rupam Das, who worked as a taxi driver. He was a resident of Nilachal Hills.
The accused is identified as Rahul Patak and is reportedly arrested by the police.
The incident took place after a heated dispute occurred between Rahul and Rupam outside the shamshan yesterday. After the dispute, Rupam was sleeping near a hotel when the accused person arrived with a stick and road and started beating him.
Rupam was severely injured after the incident and was taken to a hospital but died on the way.

As per reports, it is being said that the accused person Rahul was a drug addict loitering in the area without any reason.
The police suspects that the victim and the accused both were intoxicated when they got into a fight.
Investigation regarding this matter is ongoing and samples are being collected to jump into conclusions.
Further investigation into this matter is underway.
