New Delhi: The husband allegedly accused her of being unfaithful and claimed that her decision to skip the rituals meant she wanted him dead.
The complainant, identified as Barelal Adivasi, a resident of Bijrawan village under the Badarwas police station area, submitted a written application against his wife, Mithilesh Adivasi.
In his complaint, he alleged that she neither observed the fast for his long life nor performed the traditional moon-worship ritual associated with the festival.

Barelal reportedly told the police that he had asked his wife to at least look at the moon and pray for his long life. He further alleged that she was refusing to follow his requests. In the application, he warned that he would divorce her if she did not observe the rituals.
The unusual complaint prompted police intervention. Sanjay Mishra, Sub-Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP), Kolaras, said that a woman police officer would assist in counselling the couple to understand the disagreement and attempt to resolve the matter.
The incident has drawn attention because a disagreement over a personal religious observance has escalated into a police complaint. The wife’s response to the allegations has not been reported, and the husband’s claims remain unverified.
