Maharashtra: 9 still trapped after Pune Building Collapse, rescue operation underway

Mumbai: A collapse took place in which a three storey building collapsed after heavy rainfall causing huge pile of garbage to slide and crash in Moshi area of Pune.
When the incident occurred 23 people inside while five escaped safely and nine people were rescued and were taken to hospital for medical treatment.
Rescue operation is underway and team is trying to save the remaining nine people trapped under the debris.
The building where the collapse took place was used as private company of office. The company runs a waste-to-energy plant. The trapped people are reportedly believed to company employees.
Following the incident, Police, fire brigade, NDRF, Army personnel, doctors, and rescue teams rushed to the spot to begin with the rescue operation and take out the trapped people.

The rescue operation is being carried out in large scale using machines and special equipment to find the trapped people.
The reason behind the collapse is said to be due to continuous rainfall and made the garbage pile unstable making the building collapse.
The rescue operation is still ongoing.
Further investigation into this matter is underway.
