BJP worker critically injured in brutal sword attack in Angul

Anugola: A 40-year-old BJP activist was critically injured on Saturday after allegedly being chased and attacked by three miscreants in the Angul district.
Sushant Sahu of Pandragi village under Banarpal police station was on his way to work.
He was accosted and then brutally attacked with sharp weapons by the three youths on the Dashanali Jora bridge.
The youths then fled the spot, leaving the critically wounded Sushant on the road. Locals who rushed to his rescue immediately admitted him to a hospital in Angul.

However, when his condition grew severe, doctors decided to shift him to Cuttack for advanced treatment.
According to preliminary police reports, Sushant had an old rivalry with some people, and the attackers are likely to be connected with the dispute.
As Sushant happens to be a leading BJP activist, police are also not ruling out a political motive behind the attack and are trying to ascertain whether there is any connection with politics.
Police said a case has been registered and investigations are underway to trace the attackers.
