Shimla: Atleast 13 people were killed after taxi gets crushed by boulders in Himachal Pradesh’s Lahaul-Spiti.

The accident took place at Kadu Nallah on the Killar–Udaipur road in the tribal Pangi valley when a huge section of the hillside reportedly gave way, crushing the vehicle.

The impact buried the vehicle under the debris, leaving passengers trapped inside. One injured person was pulled out and rushed to hospital, while rescue teams continued clearing the rubble in search of others.

Bharmour-Pangi MLA Dr Janak Raj confirmed that all 13 occupants of the Tata Sumo died in the incident.

On being informed, the police teams from Tindi Police Station, district administration officials and rescue personnel reached the spot soon after the incident. Heavy machinery was also deployed to remove the debris and speed up the rescue operation.

Earlier, Lahaul-Spiti Police had confirmed receiving information about the accident, following which teams were immediately dispatched to the remote location.
