Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) has published the draft voter list as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, triggering a crucial window for claims and objections across the state.

According to officials, more than 20.14 lakh names have been deleted from the draft list during this revision process.

The move aims to purify the electoral rolls by removing duplicate, shifted, or deceased voters ahead of upcoming elections.

Key timeline for voters:

  • Objection/Claim Window: Citizens can file claims and objections regarding the draft list from July 5, 2026 to August 4, 2026.
  • Final Publication: The final electoral roll will be published on September 6, 2026.

This revision is being carried out across 31 election districts in the state. Notably, Bhubaneswar Election District has been carved out as a separate unit from Khordha district. The Commissioner will now oversee its electoral affairs.

The SIR process is a significant exercise to ensure accurate and clean voter lists. Eligible citizens are urged to check their names in the draft list and submit any necessary claims or objections within the stipulated period to avoid disenfranchisement.

Voters can access the draft list through the official CEO Odisha website (www.ceoorissa.nic.in) or designated polling stations and BLOs (Booth Level Officers).
