Mother-son duo third degree torture case: Suspended IIC applies for anticipatory bail

Kendrapara: The suspended Inspector-In-Charge (IIC) Sandhyarani Jena has applied for anticipatory bail following allegations that she and other officers subjected a mother-son duo to third-degree custodial torture inside the Talachua Marine Police Station in Kendrapada district.

According to reports, a complaint was filed against the IIC for allegedly inflicting third-degree on a mother-son duo inside the police station on May 25.
On basic of the complaint, the IIC was suspended.

Suspended IIC Adarani Jena has filed an anticipatory bail plea in the Orissa High Court fearing arrest.

Questions have been raised as to why a police officer who repeatedly violates police discipline and has been suspended thrice in the last six years is being given protection.
