Sambalpur: Youth Openly Challenges Police on Social Media. He was then arrested after the said Reel goes viral. An alleged open challenge to police through a social media reel landed a youth in trouble in Odisha’s Sambalpur. Dhanupali Police subsequently arrested the youth and reportedly made him walk to the police station.

The incident was reported from the Motijhira area under Dhanupali police limits in Sambalpur city.

According to reports, the youth, along with some of his friends, created a reel and uploaded it on Instagram and other social media platforms.

In the video, he allegedly claimed that he was not afraid of the police or the police station and warned of a major attack involving weapons in the coming days.

He also allegedly used abusive language against police personnel and issued threats of a sudden attack.

Within hours of being uploaded, the video went viral on social media. After the matter came to the notice of Sambalpur Police, the incident was taken seriously and a special police team was reportedly formed to verify the video and identify the youth.

Police subsequently conducted a raid in the Motijhira area and apprehended the youth accused of making the reel.

Instead of taking him to the police station in a police vehicle, Dhanupali Police reportedly made the accused walk along a public road to the police station.

Visuals of the youth being taken to the police station also surfaced, showing him walking with his head lowered.

The incident comes amid growing concerns over the misuse of social media platforms to post threatening or provocative content in pursuit of views and online popularity.

Further investigation into the case is underway.
