Odisha rain alert: Heavy rain likely to continue for 5 more days, cyclonic circulation may form on July 24

Bhubaneswar: Odisha is expected to experience continued rainfall for the next five days, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) anticipating the formation of a cyclonic circulation on July 24th.
As per sources, a low-pressure area is yet to be forecasted by the weather office. At present, the ongoing rains in the state are due to the presence of two trough lines, maintaining the wet spell.
A Yellow Warning has been issued for 11 districts for Wesnesday, predicting heavy rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning.
The IMD has also issued a thunderstorm with lightning warning for the entire state of Odisha till July 26th.
Odisha has recorded 488.9 mm rainfall between June 1st till date, which is 13 percent above normal for the period.

Continuous rainfall is also likely to result in waterlogging in low-lying areas and cities, a rise in water levels of various rivers and potential landslide in hilly areas and slippery conditions on roads.
Necessary precautionary measures should be taken in the concerned areas and by the inhabitants.
