Ganjam:  Around 6,500 food and supply kits are being delivered to families cut off by severe flooding across Ganjam district in Odisha by the Adani Group.

The flooding came after Cyclone Arnab struck the coasts of Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu, causing major damage to property and loss of life.

To help people survive the immediate aftermath, the Adani Foundation—the social welfare arm of the Adani Group—partnered with the local government to send out emergency relief.

Each kit has enough basic food and household supplies to last a family for about three days. The packs include:

  •  Refined oil and sugar
  •  Flattened rice (chuda) and biscuits
  •  Candles and matchboxes

The Ganjam district administration is leading and managing the distribution drive, while the Adani Foundation is providing ground support to make sure the supplies reach people quickly.

According to a press statement released on November 3, the foundation and Gopalpur Port regularly work with local officials and government agencies to support nearby villages and communities across Ganjam during natural disasters.
