Tamil Nadu Ammonia Gas Leak: Another Odia worker dies, death toll rises to 14

Bhubaneswar: The death toll of Odia workers in the ammonia gas leak accident in Tamil Nadu has risen to 14 after another worker dies.
The deceased has been identified as Rohini Juanga, a young woman from the Juanga community of Harichandanpur block in Keonjhar district.
As per reports, she was seriously ill and was undergoing treatment at the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital (RGGGH) in Chennai.
Nearly two weeks after the death of 18 people due to ammonia gas leak in a factory in Thiruvallur district in Tamil Nadu, work is underway to safely remove the remaining ammonia gas from the unit.

On June 21, ammonia gas leak took place at a private seafood export company operating in Kannigaipair village near Periyapalayam, killing 18 women workers.
As a result, the villagers within a radius of 300 to 500 metres have been advised to stay away from the factory.
Consultations were held with the medical team, police and fire department, as well as with officials from the Pollution Control Board.
