IMD issues orange and yellow warnings for rain in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) today issued orange and yellow warnings for rain in Odisha till 8.30 AM tomorrow.

The weather department sounded orange warning saying that thunderstorm accompanied with lightning, gusty surface wind (wind speed reaching upto 50-60 kmph) and heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj.

Besides, thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty surface wind (wind speed reaching upto 50-60 kmph) very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Nuapada, and Balangir.

Similarly, IMD issued yellow warning Cuttack, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nawrangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Khurda, and Nayagarh saying that thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty surface wind (wind speed reaching upto 40-50 kmph) very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, and Jagatsinghapur,

One or two places over the districts of Kandhamal and Rayagada are very likely to witness heavy rainfall till tomorrow, predicted the weather scientists in Bhubaneswar.
