IMD forecasts rain in Odisha for five more days

Bhubaneswar: Several parts of Odisha will continue to witness rainfall for five more days, predicted the regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday.

While predicting rain and thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind in parts of the state, the weather department has issued yellow warning for five days.

Check IMD’s day-wise warnings for Odisha:

Day 1 (Valid upto 8.30 AM of October 31):

  • YELLOW WARNING: Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty surface wind (wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph gusting to 50 Kmph) is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghapur, Kataka, Sundaragada, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Khordha, Nayagada.
  • Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Odisha.

Day 2 (From 8.30 AM of October 31 to 8.30 AM of November 1):

  • YELLOW WARNING: Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty surface wind (wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph gusting to 50 Kmph) very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Gajapati, and Ganjam.
  • Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Odisha.

Day 3 (From 8.30 AM of November 1 to 8.30 AM of November 2):

  • Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty surface wind (wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph gusting to 50 Kmph) very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghapur, Kataka, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Khordha, Nayagada.
  • Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Odisha.

Day 4 (From 8.30 AM of November 2 to 8.30 AM of November 3):

  • YELLOW WARNING: Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty surface wind (wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph gusting to 50 Kmph) very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Khordha, and Nayagada.
  • Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Odisha.

Day 5 (From 8.30 AM of November 3 to 8.30 AM of November 4):

  • YELLOW WARNING: Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty surface wind (wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph gusting to 50 Kmph) very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Khordha, and Nayagada.
  • Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Odisha.
