IPL betting racket Boss arrested from Berhampur, Rs 10 lakh seized

Puri: Puri Cyber police have arrested the mastermind of an illegal IPL betting racket operating across Odisha. The police have also seized Rs 10 lakh in cash from the accused.

According to reports, the accused, identified as Krishnaprasad Tripathy from Berhampur, was allegedly running the network while maintaining a hidden identity and operating under the name ‘Boss.’ Krishnaprasad is reportedly the owner of a hotel in Puri.

According to police, he was involved in cheating people of crores of rupees through online and offline betting activities linked to cricket matches. He was operating the betting racket through an app named ‘Sky Exchange.’ People reportedly deposit money in this money to receive points, which was used to bet in the cricket matches.

Following his arrest, police conducted a search at his residence in Berhampur, where they reportedly seized around Rs 10 lakh in cash.

Police have also arrested four others in connection with the case.
