Supreme Court orders to release students arrested during CJP protests

New Delhi: The Supreme Court has said all the state governments to immediately release students who were arrested during the CJP protests. The students who have no criminal records in the past will be released.

The court also stated that no actions should be taken against peaceful protesters until the next hearing.

The judges said that peaceful protests are democratic right of the people and they should not face any kind of harassment for taking part in it.

If any student below the age of 18 has been arrested should immediately be released.

Authorities are asked to keep all videos, CCTV footage, and other digital evidence safe so that allegations of police misconduct during the protests can be properly investigated.

The case was brought before the Supreme Court after petitions claimed that police used excessive force against students during the protests.

The court will hear the matter again at a later date. Further investigation into this matter is underway.
