Bhubaneswar: At least one person was killed and more than four others sustained critical injuries after a speeding black Scorpio SUV reportedly caused a series of accidents near SUM Hospital in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday night.

According to preliminary reports, the speeding vehicle allegedly rammed into multiple road users near the hospital, resulting in the fatal accident.

One person reportedly died in the mishap, while more than four others sustained serious injuries.

On receiving information, personnel from Bharatpur Police Station rushed to the spot and launched an investigation into the incident.

Police have detained the driver of the Scorpio for questioning and are investigating the circumstances that led to the series of accidents.
