Bhubaneswar: Youth Harasses Woman during Morning Walk, Police Launch Probe

Bhubaneswar: A woman has filed a complaint alleging sexual harassment during her morning walk in the Nayapalli area of Bhubaneswar, prompting police to begin an investigation.

According to the complaint filed at Nayapalli Police Station, the incident occurred a few days ago at around 5:25 AM. While the woman was on her morning walk, a man wearing a mask and riding a scooty allegedly made repeated obscene remarks at her.

The complainant further alleged that the man then behaved inappropriately and tried to approach her.

Frightened, the woman screamed and threw stones at him to protect herself. The accused reportedly fled the spot on his scooter after this.

The woman said she was left mentally distressed following the incident. In her complaint, she has sought strict action against the accused and demanded security for herself.

Based on the complaint, Nayapalli Police have registered a case and launched an investigation. Police said they are collecting CCTV footage from the area and other evidence to identify the accused.
