Truck loses control due to brake failure, 8 bikes damaged; people narrowly escape

Koraput: A major accident was narrowly averted today on the city entry road in Koraput. A polythene-laden Eicher truck suffered sudden brake failure and lost control near the HP Gas Agency premises on National Highway 26.

According to police, the speeding truck rammed into more than 8 bikes parked on the roadside. Several people present at the spot escaped with minor injuries. The incident created panic in the area.

Town Police and the Fire Services team reached the spot quickly and brought the situation under control. No casualties were reported.
