Centre sanctions 10 major road projects worth over Rs 769 Cr for Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The Union Government has taken a major step towards the overall development and strengthening of the infrastructure of the state. Under the Central Road and Infrastructure Fund (CRIF) scheme for the financial year 2026-27, an amount of more than Rs 769 crore has been sanctioned for 10 important projects in different parts of Odisha.

Sharing the development on his X handle, the Chief Minister said that these 10 projects will bring a revolutionary change in the connectivity system, especially in the remote and remote areas of the state.

Here’s the list of 10 projects the central government has approved for Odisha under CRIF scheme:

  1. Rampela Approach Bridge along Dalgaon-Tilia and Charpali Dangukghat roads in Jharsuguda district at a cost of over Rs 52.69 crore
  2. Flyover from Tata Benz Chowk to MKCG Chhak in Berhampur at Rs 146 crore,
  3. Flyover from Giri Road Chowk to Old Bus Stand in Berhampur, Ganjam district at Rs 168.26 crore,
  4. Upgradation of Semiliguda-Handiput road in Koraput district at Rs 38.46 crore,
  5. Upgradation of Lamataput-Machhkund road in Koraput district at Rs 15.20 crore,
  6. Widening of Umerkot-Chandahandi-Malgaon road in Nabarangpur district at Rs 32.62 crore,
  7. Expansion of Adaba-Paniganda road in Gajapati district at Rs 45.52 crore,
  8. Strengthening of Ramagiri-Jirang-Narayanpur road in Gajapati district at Rs 24.80 crore,
  9. Expansion of Khariar Road-Amodhi-Belthukuri road in Nuapada district at Rs 61.11 crore,
  10. Improvement of Jaleswar-Batagram-Chandaneswar road in Balasore district at Rs 184.97 crore.

The development of these important roads from the outskirts to the coast will create new opportunities for the local people in the fields of education, health and trade, said the CM adding that we are committed to ensuring the successful implementation of these projects within the stipulated time frame.

Majhi also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari for sanctioning the major road projects for Odisha.
