Ganjam: Four arrested for possessing illegal firearms, watch

Bhanjanagar: Four arrested for possessing illegal firearms in Ganjam district of Odisha on Tuesday. Bhanjanagar Police seized 2 country-made pistols and 2 live bullets from the possession of the accused youths.

The arrests were announced at a press meet by SDPO Dr. Deepak Kumar Mishra today.

As per the information, all the four arrested persons are residents of Bhanjanagar area. Police said an investigation is underway to determine whether the illegal firearms were meant to be used in a crime or supplied to someone else.

Bhanjanagar SDPO also said that over the last few months, police under the Bhanjanagar sub-division have seized more than 40 illegal firearms from various police station areas in the subdivision.
