Watch: Family shocked as 23 Cobra hatchlings found inside bedroom in Jajpur

Jajpur: In a bizarre incident, 23 Cobra hatchlings have been recovered from the bedroom of a family in Chandukuda village of Dasarathpur block in Odisha’s Jajpur district.

The matter came to light after Gouranga Jena, noticed a small serpent entering into his bedroom while he was about to sleep.

Expressing apprehension that some trouble was round the corner, the family members immediately called Snake Helpline.

On being informed, a team of Snake Helpline along with state Coordinator Pramod Sahu and Jahagir Khan reached the house and started rescue operations.

As per reports, while removing the pieces of the mud floor of the room, as many as 23 cobra hatchlings along with eggshells of snakes have been recovered by the rescuers.

Rescuers said that the rainier season (monsoon) usually leads to hatching of cobras.

They have urged the residents to be careful and keep the surrounding of their house neat and clean.

The hatchlings were released at an isolated place away from human habitations.
