Postman arrested in Sundargarh after woman alleges sexual exploitation and deception

Sundargarh: A postman was arrested from the Koida block of Sundargarh district based on a woman’s allegations of sexual exploitation, criminal intimidation, and deception.

According to the woman, she first met the postman, identified as Ramakanta Nayak, at a post office in Rourkela, where the two got acquainted and started an affair.

The complainant stated Ramakanta promised her marriage and entered into a physical relationship with her on the pretext of marriage, at gunpoint and through deceit.

He later took her to the Koida block about two months back and started living in a rented house in the area.

During that time, the postman informed her that he had officially divorced his first wife and showed her a forged divorce certificate.

When she found out the accused was still married, he allegedly fled from the rented house along with a gun about a week ago.

The woman registered a written complaint at Tensa Police Outpost, after which the police arrested Ramakanta and seized his firearm.

Further investigation is underway.
