Odisha Police Recruitment: 113 Retired Cops Wanted as SPOs; Apply by October 15

Odisha: Veteran police officers in Odisha are being called back into uniform to reinforce field operations across the state’s southern and western belts.
The South Western Range (SWR) of Odisha Police has initiated an enlistment drive to hire 113 retired officers as Special Police Officers (SPOs) on a contractual engagement. Open exclusively to former Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs), Sub-Inspectors (SIs), and Inspectors of Police, the recruitment covers six specific districts: Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, and Nuapada.
Among the participating districts, Rayagada accounts for the largest share of openings with 24 slots. Koraput follows with 22, while Malkangiri has 20 vacancies. The remaining postings are distributed across Kalahandi with 18, Nabarangpur with 16, and Nuapada with 13.

Candidates must be permanent residents of Odisha and under 65 years of age on the date the recruitment notice was issued. Full linguistic proficiency in Odia—encompassing speaking, reading, and writing—is mandatory.
Applicants must present an unblemished career record. Anyone facing active criminal proceedings or possessing a prior criminal conviction is ineligible.
Submissions must be routed directly to the Deputy Inspector General of Police, South Western Range, Koraput. The absolute cutoff for document receipt is 5:30 PM on October 15, 2026; late arrivals and incomplete packages will be turned away without assessment.
