Elderly man dies after wall collapses on him due to heavy rain in Puri

Puri: In a tragic incident, an elderly man lost his life after a wall of his house collapsed on him due to continuous heavy rainfall in Arisal village under Delanga police station in
Odisha’s Puri district.

The deceased has reportedly been identified as Ramachandra Behera, a resident of Arisal village.

According to sources, the deceased was sitting inside his house when the wall, which got weakened by incessant rain, suddenly collapsed on him. His family members immediately rescued him from the wall rubble with help from local residents and rushed him to Delanga Community Health Centre in critical condition. He was provided emergency treatment. However, despite medical efforts, Behera succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.

The news of his death has cast a pall of gloom over the family and the entire village.
