Mumbai: This is one of the most evergreen love stories of Bollywood but before Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan tied the knot, they had to face opposition from their respective families due to religious differences.

As per their earlier interviews, in order to get acceptance of her family, Shah Rukh even used to tell them that his name was “Abhinav”.

Gauri Khan also revealed the anecdote in an old interview and called it “silly and very childish” as they were too young at the time and thought that this would assure her parents of his religious identity.

The anecdote has also been captured by author Mushtaq Shiekh in his book Shah Rukh Can which stated that Shah Rukh used a number of aliases.

The couple later on, decided to celebrate both the festivals and got married under Hindu and Muslim rituals on 25 October 1991.

More than three decades later, Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan continue to be one of the most favourite couples in Bollywood.

They have three children together, Aryan, Suhana, and AbRam, and regularly share how they celebrate both religions together as a family.
