Himachal Pradesh on red alert after heavy rain, schools closed

Shimla: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued red alert after Himachal Pradesh receives heavy rainfall. It warns several districts of the state of flash floods, landslides, and cloudbursts.

The weather condition Himachal Pradesh has become so bad that government had no choice but to close the schools and colleges today and tomorrow keeping in mind safety of the students.

As per reports, heavy rainfall has already started showing its disastrous nature as Kinnaur experiences flash floods, road of Sangla–Chitkul gets blocked and traffic created.

Following the incident, the rescue and emergency teams are closely monitoring the situation.

The public has been advised to not to go near rivers or landslide prone areas and stay updated with weather forecast before going outside.
