Former Banai PS ASI Pravakar Panda and his wife convicted in DA case

Sundaragada: Pravakar Panda, the former ASI of Police of Banai police station in Sundaragada, now retired and his spouse Geetanjali Patra, former Assistant Teacher of Jhirpani Government High School (retired) have been convicted in a Disproportionate Assets (DA) case.
Pravakar Panda and Geetanjali Patra were charge-sheeted by Odisha Vigilance in a case U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(e) of PC Act, 1988 for possessing disproportionate assets (DA).
The Special Judge, Vigilance, Sundaragada today convicted and sentenced both the convicts to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 1 year and to pay fine of Rs 1,00,000.

Further, the Court has directed State Government to take steps for realisation of the disproportionate assets (DA) from movable and immovable assets of both the convicts.
Odisha Vigilance will now move the competent authority for stoppage of pension of Pravakar Panda and Geetanjali Patra following their conviction.
