Five killed, several injured in road accident due to overspeeding in Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow: At least five people were killed and several others injured after a tractor-trolley was involved in a major road accident in Uttar Pradesh, police said on Saturday.

The injured were rushed to a nearby medical facility, where they are currently undergoing treatment.

According to preliminary information, the reason behind the accident to take place is due to overspeeding.

It is being said that passengers were being transported illegally in a commercial or agricultural vehicle, raising concerns over violations of road safety regulations.

The police have initiated a detailed investigation to establish the exact circumstances leading to the accident.

Further directions are expected to strengthen road safety enforcement and prevent similar incidents in the district.
