Odisha govt appoints Vinaytosh Mishra as Interim DGP

Bhubaneswar: Putting all speculations to the rest, Odisha government today appointed senior IPS officer Vinaytosh Mishra, the DGP, CID, Crime Branch, as the Interim Director General of Police (DGP) (Head of Police Force) of the state.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has approved the proposal to give the additional charge of DGP (Head of Police Force) to Vinaytosh Mishra of 1993-batch officer of Indian Police Service (IPS).

In his reaction after being appointed as the acting DGP of Odisha, Vinaytosh Mishra thanked Chief Minister for reposing faith on him and said he will always uphold the high dignity and prestige of the post of DGP.

While speaking to Kalinga TV, he said, “Maintain law and order would be the first priority.”

It is to be noted here that Vinaytosh Mishra will take the additional charge of DGP from DGP YB Khurania who is all set to retire from the post on August 16. Mishra will continue to be the Interim DGP of Odisha until further order of the state government or the appointment of new DGP.
