Sambalpur: Sr Revenue Asst, Settlement Office Basudev Bhoi arrested by Vigilance in DA case, watch

Sambalpur: Basudev bhoi, the senior revenue assistant, at the office of the settlement Officer, major settlement, sambalpur was arrested by Odisha Vigilance today in a (Disproportionate assets) DA case. His Disproportionate assets including 1 Multi storeyed building, 16 valuable plots, 1 four wheeler, etc unearthed.

As per reports, today i.e. on 25.12.2025, Basudev Bhoi, Senior Revenue Assistant, O/o the Settlement Officer, Major Settlement, Sambalpur, was arrested by Odisha Vigilance and forwarded to the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Sambalpur for possession of disproportionate assets (DA) to the tune of 80% of his known sources of income, which he could not account for satisfactorily.

In this connection, Sambalpur Vigilance PS Case No.26 dated 25.12.2025 was registered against Basudev Bhoi, Senior Revenue Assistant u/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(b) PC (Amendment) Act,2018.

During house searches, the following movable and immovable assets worth crores were unearthed in the name of Basudev Bhoi, Senior Revenue Assistant and his family members:

1) One double storeyed residential building with area 4000 Sqft. located at Bargarh.

2) One building with area 1700 Sqft. at Charbhati, Sambalpur.

3) 16 valuable plots including 12 in and around Bargarh town, 3 in Sambalpur town & 1 on the outskirts of Sambalpur.

4) Bank & Insurance deposits worth Rs.11.56 Lakhs.

5) 1 four wheeler (Maruti Suzuki Swift) & 4 two wheelers worth around Rs.11 Lakhs.

6) Household articles worth around Rs.6.07 Lakhs. After thorough search, inventory and further enquiry, the income, expenditure and assets of Basudev Bhoi were calculated and he was found in possession of disproportionate assets which were 80% in excess of his known sources of income.
