New Delhi: The Centre has fully restored non-domestic packed LPG supplies to pre-crisis levels, withdrawing sectoral restrictions imposed during the Iran-West Asia disruption, the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas said Thursday.
With Thursday’s order, restrictions have now been lifted entirely for packed non-domestic LPG.
The move will benefit key sectors that rely on LPG for process heating and cannot switch to natural gas, including steel, automobiles, textiles, chemicals, dyes, and plastics.
Officials said priority had earlier been given to food-sector consumers — restaurants, dhabas, hotels, industrial canteens, food processing units, dairies, and community kitchens.
Domestic Supplies Stable

The ministry stressed that household LPG remains unaffected. “100% supply is being made to Domestic LPG, Domestic PNG and CNG (Transport)”.
On April 11, 2026, more than 52.3 lakh domestic LPG cylinders were delivered, and no dry-outs have been reported at distributorships.
To prevent diversion, Delivery Authentication Code-based deliveries have increased to around 93%, while online LPG bookings are at 98%.
The supply squeeze followed disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz amid the West Asia conflict, which impacted global oil and gas shipments. Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said that despite global rationing measures, India “remains an oasis of energy security, availability and affordability”.
