New Delhi: A new advisory by NTA has made biometric verification of all candidates mandatory before they enter the examination hall.

Following the recent controversy related to the NEET-UG 2024 examination, enhanced security measures were introduced.

In an advisory issued on June 18, NTA has mentioned that, “after mandatorily being frisked, the candidates will have to undergo biometric verification at the entry”.

It will be done in the examination hall with the help of the on-duty frisking/invigilator at the gate with finger scan/face scan, etc.

It added that if the biometric verification of the candidate fails, “on account of device failure, quality of biometric data etc then they would still be allowed to appear for the examination only after submitting a written undertaking to the examination center supervisor.

If it is required, additional verification may be resorted to after the start of the Examination or at the end of the Examination,” the NTA advisory stated.

However, the NTA has cautioned that non-cooperation with any such requirement will be deemed to be a violation of the examination rules, and appropriate action will be taken.
