1 killed, 2 critically injured in separate road accidents in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: One person killed and two other critically injured in separate road mishaps reported from the State Capital city over two successive days in a few hours.

According to reports, in the first incident a youth was killed after he was run over by a fast truck while trying to cross the road in Tamando police station area.

The driver of the fast vehicle fled from the site with his vehicle after the hit and run.

Police is trying to trace the truck driver, who is absconding.

Efforts are also being taken to identify the deceased, whose identity remains unknown.

In another road accident, two youths, identified as Soumyaranjan Sethi and Yashaswi Dhar fell from their bike in the Jayadev Vihar flyover at around 1 AM on Saturday.

As per reports, the young men sustained critical injuries as the motorcycle collided with some unknown vehicle.

A car or a truck possibly crushed with the motorcycle, however, no vehicle was found at the scene.

On receiving information, police rescued the injured two men and admitted them in the Capital Hospital.

Following which, one person was later taken to a private hospital for further medical support as his health condition deteriorated.

Police are to investigate the matter.
